Sandy Burns-Gardner has been based in San Marcos, CA since 1999. She offers a program based on the classical principles of dressage. Sandy earned a bachelor degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in International business, at the University of San Diego.
In 1990 she worked professionally for Mr. and Mrs. Harry Polonitza training young horses at Seabreeze Farms in Del Mar, CA. It was at Seabreeze Farms that Sandy met her teacher, Mr. Dietrich von Hopffgarten. He invited her to Redmond, Washington where she became a working student training a variety of horses under his guidance. After more than two years Mr. Von Hopffgarten recommended Sandy to Mr. Johann Hinnemann in Voerde, Germany.
While in Germany Sandy rode Mr. Hinnemann's horses and trained clients horses. Ms. Heike Kemmer invited Sandy to Amsel Hof Walle to train some of her horses and stallions.
Sandy is currrenlty being coached by three time Olympian Guenter Seidel.
Sandy has a range of students from novice to Grand Prix. She starts all her own young horses bred on the farm with the assistance of her sisters Jeanne and Kathy. They make quite a team. Sandy has successfully trained horses from the beginning to Grand Prix. She is open-minded, friendly and a positive thinker. Call or E-mail for availability and scheduling of lessons.
